Varsity Baseball Splits with laPorte

The Goshen Varsity baseball team split a double header against LaPorte on Saturday afternoon bringing their record to 2-3 on the 2025 season. They won game 1 by a score of 13-2 and lost game 2 by a score of 3-2. Bryson Wilson picked up the win in game 1 on the mound, pitching 5 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Wilson also added 2 RBIs at the plate in game 1. The Goshen offense came out on fire for the first game. The offense was led by Wilson and Kyan Miller who each collected multiple hits. Karter Marcum strung together 5 RBIs on the game including the walk off ground rule double to end the game in the 5th inning. Bray Hoag also collected a hit and drove in 2 runs for the offense. The offense cooled off for game 2, while the pitching stayed strong. The RedHawks were held to just 3 hits, Bryson Wilson, Karter Marcum, and Braxton Cline each collected a hit. Cline drove in both of the runs for the offense and had a double to bring the RedHawks to 3-2 deficit in the 6th. Bryson Wilson and Quinn Shreiner Landes each scored a run in game 2. Shreiner Landes started on the mound for the RedHawks in game 2 and pitched 3 scoreless innings. Colton Rapp came in to pitch and allowed only 1 hit in 2 innings, but walked 4 batters. He gave up 2 runs on the mound and collected the loss. Jensen Meikle came in to pitch 2 innings and allowed a run. Goshen is back in action on Monday when they host Northridge for the first NLC matchup of the 2025 season. The game is set to begin at 5:30pm.
