In the last game of the regular season, and final game at Phend Field, Goshen (11-13, 6-8 NLC) won on a walk off single against East Noble by a score of 4-3. Kaden Witty drove in Jace Hershberger in the bottom of the 7th inning to give the RedHawks the victory. Goshen began the game by jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning. Bryson Wilson led the inning off with a single and moved to 3rd when Braxton Cline singled. He then scored on a balk. Later in the inning Colton Rapp drove in Cline and Damian Castillo on a single to give the RedHawks the 3-0 lead. East Noble was held scoreless through 4 innings until they were able to push a run across in the 4th, 5th, and 7th innings to tie the game. Ryen Diaz pitched 5 innings for the RedHawks and allowed 2 runs (1 earned) and stuck out 3 East Noble batters. Jensen Meikle came in for the last 2 innings and gave up 1 unearned run and struck out 1 batter to pick up the win on the mound. Kaden Witty then drove in Jace Hershberger (who was pinch running for Damian Castillo) to win the game and walk off. **Game note: This was the last scheduled home game at Phend Field as Goshen Community Schools plans to build a new baseball/softball complex on the south side of Prairie View elementary next year. Goshen has played on Phend Field for home baseball games since 1968. Goshen won the first ever game at Phend Field by a score of 4-3 over South Bend Adams on April 9, 1968. Goshen then played their last scheduled home game on May 16, 2024 and won by a score of 4-3.** Special thank you to Stu Swartz for the game note. Stu was in attendance tonight for the game and was also present for the first ever game at Phend Field.
