By JJ DuBois | Apr 9, 2024 9:19 PM

The Goshen RedHawks baseball team (1-3, 0-0 NLC) picked up their first win on the young season, defeating Jimtown 8-2. Kyan Miller picked up the win for the RedHawks on the mound pitching 6 innings while only giving up 3 hits and 2 runs. Miller struck out 7 Jimmies in route to his first victory on the season. Jace Hershberger pitched a scoreless 7th inning in relief for Goshen. The RedHawks used 2 big early innings offensively to lead them to victory. They scored 2 runs in the first inning when Caelan Miller led the game off with a single. He was bunted to 2nd base by Bryson Wilson who reached safely on the play. Kyan Miller was able to drive both of those runners in on a 2 out RBI double. The offense didn’t stop there. In the 2nd inning Kaden Witty led the inning off with a double to lead a 6 run inning. The RedHawks used their speed and some defensive mistakes by Jimtown to score the 6 runs. The RedHawks return to action tomorrow when they travel to Albion to take on Central Noble. That game is set to start at 5:30pm. Goshen JV lost their game by a score of 10-0 to the Jimmies. That drops their record to 0-3.
