Baseball coaches from around the state of Indiana convened on Sunday to select their district nominations for the 2026 North/South All-Star Series. The Series will be played in Lafayette at Loeb Stadium on June 26-28. Coaches were also tasked with determining their Player of the Year, Head and Assistant Coaches of the Year, Media Person of the Year, and Umpire of the Year. To be a part of the process, coaches must be members of the IHSBCA and be present at the nomination meeting or at least have a representative from the school or program present on their behalf. The team of coaches worked through nominating seniors for the North/South All-Star Series that will be provided to the North/South Committee so they may determine North All-Stars for 2026. At the annual IHSBCA District C coaches meeting, Braxton Cline was selected as the player of the year for the district by area coaches. Through 22 games Braxton leads the RedHawk offense in almost every category. He is hitting .520 on the season with 39 hits, 4 2Bs, 3 3Bs, and 4 HRs on the season. Braxton has started every game of his career through high school and leads the team as their starting Shortstop this season. His standout senior season has led him to be recognized as the districts top player. As player of the year, Braxton will find out if he will join the North/South all star series that takes place later in June. Ryen Diaz was also nominated by the district to move on to the selection committee to determine if he will make the North/South All Star Series. Diaz has pitched in many important games for the RedHawks and as of 5/18/2026 he has a 6-1 record with a 1.95 ERA. Goshen Athletics would like to congratulate both Braxton Cline and Ryen Diaz on their accomplishments and representation for RedHawk baseball at the state level through their district nominations.
