The Goshen RedHawks improved to 15-4 (10-1 NLC) on Wednesday night with a 5 inning victory over Plymouth by a score of 11-0. Bray Hoag picked up the win on the mound throwing a complete game shutout allowing just 1 hit and struck out 4 batters. Hoag was able to finish the game with just 75 pitches thrown. After sitting down the Pilgrims in order in the 1st inning, the RedHawks were able to score 1 run in the bottom of the inning. Braxton Cline and Jensen Meikle hit back to back singles to have runners at 1st and 3rd. After a strikeout, Jensen Meikle got in a rundown at 1st base long enough to score Braxton Cline giving the RedHawks a 1-0 lead after 1 inning. The 3rd inning saw the RedHawks push across 3 more runs. After Brycen Eaton bunted Karter Marcum over to 2nd base, Spencer Elliott and Braxton Cline walked. Jensen Meikle then hit a shallow fly ball to the outfield that was dropped by the Plymouth 2nd baseman to score Karter Marcum. Jaxon Miller then singled to score Elliott and Cline. The RedHawks led 4-0 after 3 innings. The bottom of the 4th inning was the biggest inning for the Goshen offense. The inning started with 3 straight singles from Goshen. Manny Pizana, Karter Marcum, and Brycen Eaton all singled to load the bases for the top of the order. Spencer Elliott and Braxton Cline walked to bring in a run apiece. Jensen Meikle then singled to score 2 more runners followed by an RBI ground out from Jaxon Miller. Colton Rapp reached on an error from Plymouth to score Jensen Meikle. Bryson Wilson and Manny Pizana each singled to load the bases. Karter Marcum brought in Pizana on a sacrifice fly. After all of that action, Goshen led 11-0 after 4 innings. Hoag was able to get the Pilgrims out in the top of the 5th to end the game. The RedHawk offense was led by Manny Pizana and Jensen Meikle who each had multiple hits. Meikle and Jaxon Miller each drove in 2 runs. Braxton Cline scored 3 times and Spencer Elliott and Karter Marcum each scored 2 runs. Goshen continues NLC play on Friday when they travel to Dunlap to take on the Concord Minutemen. The game is set to begin at 5:30pm.
